Marina Guinart, player from the FCT competition group training at CIT, won today the U’16 Catalunya Championship.

Marina Guinart beat, at the final played at CIT Cornellà due to rain, Moldovian player living in Catalunya Aliona Bolsova by 62 76(6) after leading by 62 62.

Andrea Lázaro and Alexandra Nancarrow, players from Cornella International Tennis Centre will play the qualifying draw at ITF Women’s ($10,000) in Torrent from next Saturday.

Torrent will be the sixth tournament they will play on 2012 with very good results so far as both have qualified a couple of times.

Alexandra Nancarrow has WTA ranking since the end of 2011 while Andrea Lazaro is very close after having played and won 2 main draw matches.

Garbiñe Muguruza, player from Elitia Group training at Cornellà International Tennis Center receives the first wild card at Barcelona Ladies Open 2012.

Sandra Reichel, Tournament Director, unveiled it during the press conference held at Barcelona Town Hall last Wednesday.

Muguruza one of the most promising players from Spain reached the fourth round at WTA Premier event played in Miami. She also received a wild card in Miami where she beat Vera Zvonareva and Flavia Pennetta.

Garbiñe is ranked 208 this week but after Miami’s result she will move up around 50 spots.

Marina Guinart, player from FCT competition group training at CIT, and second seeded won last Sunday the 37th edition of Trofeu Ciutat de Terrassa, an event from Circuit Absolut FCT.

Marina Guinart beat in the final Laura Úbeda by 61 60. She also beat Marina Rull in semifinals by 61 60.

Eduard Esteve, player from the FCT competition group training at CIT, reached the final at Perin Memorial in Umag.

Perin Memorial is a grade 1 event part of the ITF Junior Circuit and reached its 29th edition this year.

Eduard Esteve lost against German Daniel Masur, second seeded, by  46 63 and 61.

Before reaching the final Esteve beat Gergely Madarasz (HUN), Antonio Mastrelia (ITA), Domagoj Biljesko (CRO), Markos Kalovelonis (GRE-1) and Filip Veger (CRO-8).

Other CIT player playing in Umag were Pol Toledo (eliminated in the quarterfinals by champion), Jaume Pla (who lost in second round) and David Biosca (eliminated in first round).

After this result Eduard Esteve is placed on 54th position of the world junior rankings.

Pol Toledo, player from FCT competition group training at CIT, won 1st round match last night in Melbourne.

Toledo beat local player Daniel Guccione after two hours match and saving two match points. The final result was 64 06 86.

CIT Australian player Alexandra Nancarrow appeared on WTA rankings for fisrt time.

18 years old Australian is on WTA ranking list for firt time in her career after appearing on 1208 position this week.

In order to get ranking a player needs to obtain points on a minimum of 3 events. Alexandra won their points in two 10,000$ events played in Spain last summer (Melilla and Madrid). Last week she played a 25,000$ tournament in Australia where she get her last point.

From now on Alex will concentrate playing on ITF Women’s Circuit after winning a couple of Junior events this year.

Oriol Roca, player of the competition group of the FCT who trains at CIT, won the Circuit Absolut event played in Cornellà this week.

This tournament was played at Centre Internacional de Tennis de Cornellà and served as a preparation for the Spanish National Championship to be played in Barcelona next week.

RCT Barcelona’s player beat his training partner Jaume Pla from CE Laietà by 64 64.

To reach the final Roca defeated on previous rounds Max Andrews, Carlos Becke, Tinotenda Chanakira and Egor Kovalev.

Miriam Rosell, player of the competition group of the FCT who trains at CIT, won the Circuit Absolut event played in L’Hospitalet.

The final, postponed last week-end due to bad weather, has been played in Cornella on Wednesday.

RCT Barcelona’s player beat in the final Anna Abadias by 62 and 62.

To reach the final Rosell defeated on previous rounds Gisela Font, Aina Hernandez and Laura Gulbe.
