Technical Training
CIT’s main objective is the total preparation of each student and the successful combination of tennis training and academic studies. This is achieved through technical, tactical and fitness training using computerised and audio-visual analysis.
All of our programmes are run by fully-qualified and accredited instructors who offer a personalised training schedule. Accompanied by their trainer, players participate in a number of tournaments appropriate to their level. The training programme runs throughout the year and is adapted to the student’s tournament schedule to ensure that continuous progress is made.
In total, players have three and half hours’ technical training and 2 hours of physical conditioning per day. On Saturday or Sunday, academy players can use the facilities at the centre.
To take full advantage of new technologies, the academy has acquired specific machines that help to improve the physical and technical performance of each player:
- ROBOTIC EYE: On-court camera with a powerful zoom that allows technical and tactical recording for post-training or post-match analysis.
- GV 2000: Stand-alone video recorder used on-court for instant swing and stroke analysis.
- Video cameras with ultra-slow motion playback.
All recordings can be viewed on a large screen at the academy.
Maximum strength and explosive strength work is mainly done in the gym. On court, players focus on coordination, speed, multi-jump and multi-throw exercises.
The fact that our programme is designed specifically for tennis and the tournament calendars, we ensure that our players reach their optimal fitness level.
The physical conditioning programme also includes tennis-related injury prevention training 2 or 3 times a week. To complement this, aqua gym classes help to strengthen the back, arms and shoulders.
CIT has two well-equipped gyms to accommodate the training groups. For specific training, the gyms have Technogym free weights, a Power Plate vibrating platform, Keiser pneumatic resistance equipment and a Versapulley conic pulley. For further player evaluation and analysis, our fitness instructors have access to the Musclelab and Ergopower systems.

Although tournament expenses and sign-up fees are covered by the players, travel costs are significantly reduced when a player joins our competition groups. For tournaments in the Barcelona region, transport is included in the training fee.
The fact that there are a large number of tournaments held in Catalonia is a great advantage for our players and allows them to compete at a high level without travelling long distances or losing their training rhythm.
Competition video analysis – following a match, players can review and analyse their performance with their coach.
In the case that a player sustains an injury, he / she receives immediate treatment and physiotherapy at the clinic.
